Chairman’s Statement of The Tenth Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) and Eleventh Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to The ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER)

- The 10th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management (AMMDM) and the 11th Meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP) to the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER) were convened as a joint session on 20 October 2022, in Bangkok, Thailand. The Meeting was opened by H.E. Anupong Paojinda, Minister of Interior, as the Chair of the AMMDM, and chaired by H.E. Pol. Lt. Gen. Nadhapit Snidvongs, Vice-Minister of Interior, Kingdom of Thailand, on behalf of the Chair of the AMMDM. The Meeting was attended by the representatives of ASEAN Member States, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre).
- The Meeting commended the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) on the successful implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER) through the AADMER Work Programme 2021-2025, as well as the Governing Board of the AHA Centre in providing guidance on the operationalization of the AHA Centre. Accomplishments in both the policy and operational fronts are essential in achieving the aspirations of the ASEAN Declaration on “One ASEAN One Response: ASEAN Responding to Disasters as One in the Region and Outside the Region” and the ASEAN Vision 2025 on Disaster Management; and in fulfilling the objectives of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Blueprint 2025
